Friday night's Patriotic Spectacular fireworks pre-show had a little something for everyone.  Since the American Idol couldn't be there, Kris Allen's brother, Daniel, gave a mini concert instead.

The families there Friday night know the Fourth of July is about more than just having a good time.  "It means to me to celebrate the freedom of our country and all our rights and all the stuff we get to do," says Joel Holt.

And right now, Holt's daughter, Sydney, is all about the fireworks.  "What's your favorite color?" asked FOX16’s Kelly Dudzik.

"Red," replied Sydney.

When she gets older, she'll know what they stand for. Penny Story's husband used to be in the military and she sums it all up pretty well.

"Independence. Freedom," she says.
